I had been planning to purchase this card from neweeg:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130376
Now the ratings are great on this card, but its now deactivated.

    I also found this card:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130416

The specs are almost identical. But the second card is cheaper and doesnt come with a DVI to HDMI adapted. Plus the reviews on the second arent as great.

Has the first card been phased out now as both neweeg and tigerdirect have it deactivated? Just wondering what I was missing here. :p

They seem like the same card to me except for the package contents...

Yes, the first is discontinued, but the actual cards are identical, only the packaging has changed. That's a lot of money for a card of that performance though, you're welcome to buy it if you like, but this card is more compact, gives better performance in some games, provides a better image quality, is better at HD video playback and more importantly costs a lot less:

This is the card I recommend to people building gaming PCs now first and foremost.
