Now and then the mouse on my Sony VAIO VGN-AR71M just kinda sticks along the left hand side of my screen. It moves up n down fine, n if your fast you can get it to jump about half an inch out from the border momentarily. I'm not sure if this is a software problem or a hardware problem... but it's really annoying. And Windows Vista has dissapointed me so far (off topic but... does anyone else fail to see the logic behind Microsoft's move to get rid of the mixer?!) and so I'm quite happy to blame it for this annoyance until I am told otherwise. I've cleaned my touchpad but to no avail... restarting normally works then after a while it just jumps back to the left hand side again. Any help would be much appreciated!

EDIT - I found that locking my Windows session and returning to the login screen restores the full movement of the mouse... so is there something running in the background that would pull my mouse to the left?! It's rather weird.

OK... I am a complete numpty...
I had a wireless controller connected which was in my draw with the joystick being pushed in the... you guessed it... left direction.
    Whoops!
