How can I make FFDShow show up when I'm playing a WMV, RM, Quicktime file, or a DVD? It only shows up when I play an AVI file.

Assuming that FFDSHOW is set for the file types AND you are using Media Player Classic for playback:
In MPC, click 'View' > 'Options' > 'Internal Filters'

Uncheck the types that you don't want MPC to decode using its filters.
If the merit in FFDSHOW is set high enough, it will be used instead.

Any time you are playing a clip with MPC, you can see the video filter that is being used by clicking 'Play' > 'Filters'
