I gotta say that i own a MBP which i purchased 9 months ago. However with the new laptop revision from Apple, i am regretting that decision. Essentially the MB contains everything the MBP has. The MB has a vast graphic card for everyday gaming or video encoding. It has the exact same screen as the MBP. It is even backlit. It has the same design and the high end model has an illuminated keyboard. It is also smaller and lighter. So if i were you i would get the Macbook.

Well technific, you did cover some of the basics but there is one thing that will be a deal breaker and that would be the audio editing capabilities of MB vs. MBP.

If you work with ANY prosumer audio gear that uses FireWire, MBP = MUST.

Otherwise if you're just going to be playing WoW and working in Garageband, the MB should do quite nicely. My wife plays WoW on her base model MB and it looks decent. The settings are not maxed out but are decent.

If anything, I'd make sure I had plenty of RAM either way.
