OK.. That eliminates Sony VGNTZ.. Now, Once I have the blu ray movie on my HDD, do I need an HDMI output to connect to the HD TV to see 1080p?? Will VGA out give me the same resolution? Dan

You should get at least a BD reader with HDMI, if the drive writes to BD then even better. VGA will not give you the same resolution as HDMI.

Thanks for the info.. Up until now, I had been ripping regular DVDs to my HDD solely for watching on my laptop or my HD TV. It would be great if I could do the same with BluRay. I'm not really interested in burning. . The threads seem to concentrate on burning..How tough would it be to rip a bluray disk and go no further than watching the movie from a laptop HDD connected to an HD Tv through an HDMI port? I plan on buying ANYDVDHD and Powerdvd Ultra.. Thanks for your Help Dan
