looking to buy a new tv

    i am looking to buy a new tv as my current tv is about to die(b purpose). i am a bit baffled by the choice of tv's avaliable. so could i get some recomendations from you lot, the tv should have these features:
    42" inch
    cost no more than £800
    1080p resolution
    enegry saving
    lcd or plasma (dont really care)
    16:9 Aspect Ratio
    USB or SD card connection (if possible)
    and HD ready

    800 euros = 1,140 dollars, Which can certainly buy a nice TV. Assuming its a direct exchange and there's not unfair markups.

    16:9 aspect ratio and HD Ready is a given. Not saying you want an LCD or Plasma doesn't tell me much. Will you be doing a lot of gaming on this TV? If so it's LCD all the way. The top brands are Sony and Samsung, which may be in your price range. Toshiba is also a nice brand with a good price/performance ratio. Any of those brands are a good bet.

    The new Sony Bravia LCD's with the 120Hz refresh rate are quite impressive !
