Hi first up great forums been reading for a while as a guest and so much information it hurts my head.

I have had an xbox for years and have had it chipped for a long time and been running great. My little one selected xbox live and it reset to the MS dash.
I downloaded Slayers and the Auto installer and experimented with them. My thompson drive does not like the auto installer iso disc I made but the slayer 2.7 iso loads up fine.

I read the pdf doc and tried to select the new dash install and also tried the evox update but it still just boots to the MS dash no matter what.
I am somewhat confused as I do not know if I had to reflash the bios but wanted to get some good advice first as I don't want to kill the xbox. I have many games and a lot of save games so I do not want to do the format and new install option.
My xbox still boots up fine but is stuck on the ms dash and will not load up evox it is chipped and always been running great.

Apart from that I tried to back up with ftp but as I cannot load another dash does this mean it will not work because you cannot make the IP address static?
It keeps giving me no signal I have a cross over cable but it is quite old so I am going to test it with another one.

    Thanks in advance

You should be able to load the slayers dash (it is booting after all) and use the dash on that to ftp.. once it loads you can usually change ip settings on the fly.

OR.. with slayers you need to select install evox dash to C .. only that.. you can format just C and start over.. that clears any junk possible softmod type exploit files which may have found their way on..

Nothing will usually touch the bios, but without knowing which chip it is hard to advise.. 99% of bios looks for evox.ini for instructions which dash to boot.

The file you need to look at is evox.ini which will have a full path to which dash to boot XD
