I've been trying to burn these .MKV vidoes that I have that has .ASS subtitles integreated with them, not hardsubbed. However everytime I convert and burn the files, the subtitle's original font gets converted to Arial, which is the default font for subtitles on convertxtodvd.

My problem is how do I convert and burn the .MKV videos with the integrated .ASS subtitles with it's origional font?

ConvertXtoDVD can't handle all the intricacies of .ass subtitles. The reason why it converts back to Arial is because .ass subs can use special fonts which other text-based subtitles can't. When ConvertXtoDVD processes the .ass subtitles, it can only work with one font type.

Your best bet is to create an Avisynth script and run that through VDub/Mod or MeGUI. It'll hardsub the subs into the movie, but that's the only real way of working .ass subs into movies to be burned. At the moment, anyway.

I found a program called StaxRip, that has been said to be able to hardsub the files. But I can't figrue out how exactly to hardsub the .ass files. can anyone give me a guide or a link to a guide on how to hardsubb .ass subtitles, in a MKV container??

Well Staxrip program just doesn't work for me, for one reason or multiple bugs. So my question is now changed, how do I hardsubb .ASS subtitles into the h264 video stream?

You can follow my previous post and use AviSynth + MeGUI.
