I uninstalled my zune software and restarted next thing I know, I cant hit any keys in logon and the mouse doesnt work, this a laptop mouse not external.

So i plugged in my USB mouse and that works, but I dont have a USB keyboard to test it with, so I cannot login.

I tried in safe mode, no result. I even tried in CMD @ startup using CHKDSK, copying i386 files from cd to C: nothing worked.

Now, i made a new partion on the drive and and was able to login into a new windows xp installation. But i cannot login into my regular account on the different OS.

It's not hardware because I can enter BIOS by hittin F5, so the keyboard and mouse work up until login.. Can someone help, is it a virus?

Also, i cannot run system restore because I'm logged into a different partition now. What could the problem possibly be? i cannot afford a formatting
