Hello all, I have my self build computer over 6 months now and it always worked nice. I had Vista(ultimate) 64 bit at first, after a month formatted it, reinstalled vista then formatted again in october. Then I installed XP, but i didn't like it anymore so back to vista. Now i have that vista install since october. But now all of a sudden it starts hanging at around 1 minute after boot. It just freezes and I can't do anything anymore. No error logs or w/e. I tested my RAM and it's fine, my PSU also. And it only happens when i boot into 'Normal Windows'. Now i'm in the save mode and it doesn't hang. Is there something wrong with the vista install?? I really don't want to format again. I hope you can help me. Thx EDIT: Just updated Video Drivers; doesn't help
What graphics card are you useing? as i had the same thing and it turned out that it was the lastest nvida drivers where making it the freeze. after i uninstalled the grapich card and then renistalled it, i just used the drivers off the CD which came with the card and now it all working fine. Regards Daniel
I have 2 Geforce 9800GTX cards and have installed Vista on a second partition of the same HDD and PC, this version works fine and it has the same gfx drivers as my other one. So that can't be the problem.
