Ah Ha! so you're the guy who helps put my insurance premiums up.

All I would suggest, is do something that is reversible if required.

I would just be very careful and double check the wording in your policy if you do try and break it.

You may otherwise find that you end up with a totally dead TV and no replacement.

Other option would be to just sell it on eBay and take the hit on the cost and put it down to experience.

I won't buy any Hi-Fi or Video equipment any more unless I can see or hear it before hand.

Are you sure the tv is even set up properly?
Are you on satelllite or cable?
There could be alot of things causing the bad picture on your tv.

Try using the THX optimizer found on many dvd releases, this will enable you to set it up correctly.

I have a separate DVD which takes some time to set up the tv, and then again for the sound, but it does pay to do it, as judging it by eye is a waste of time. This is what I use.

However, it does appear that Finlux took a nose dive some years ago, and went from being a good solid make to a cheap poor make, looks like you already know this now and nothing will really help, but it is worth spending a some time trying to improve things before taking any action.
