Well I finally got the latest iXtreme working for me but every backup so far has been a dud. I get it into .iso format and use imgburn to burn it. Takes about 38 minutes or so on 2x speed and everything says completed successfully but dud, dud, dud. Is this just the way it is, you have to gamble with on/off combos till it works or am I doing something wrong? I have to reset about 15 times and maybe just maybe i may boot up into the backup but then it does not work right. What am I am doing wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated since doual layer dvd's are too pricey to keep throwing them away.
sorry forgot to add that I have read the AD thread on how to burn these but the links are all broken to get the software. I finally got cdclone but I want to make sure that the info I read is not outdated since it was written some while back. Is there anything I am doing wrong? Or if you have a link to info I should read about a surefire way to make this process go without a hicth I would greatly appreciate it. TIA for any and all advice.

sounds like your not doing anything wrong.
Could be the laser in your 360 needs replacing.
Have you tried your backups on your friends console?
Do originals still work?
What type of drive have you got inside your 360?
What brand of discs are you using?
Clone cd still works the same....you choose to burn the .DVD file (smallest file of the two) intead of the iso.
You have to manually set the layer break in img burn also, have you done that?

Brand discs are Memorex DVD+R DL capable of 8x but burning at 2x. The 360 has the MS28 drive. Latest Ixtreme being used. Still plays originals just fine, actually have few freinds with 360's none of them modded or anything so a test console is not available for use. I did use XDVDMulleter to check my .iso's and it never gives out an error of any sort. It can read the data just fine. I would hate to think that as soon as I was finally able to get my iXtreme flash going that now my laser is bad :(
I thought that chosing th small .dvd file would automatically set the layer break for you. I was under the impression that is what it was. I did read you can change that by analyzing with XDVDmulleter but I really thought that it was already there and trustworthy of being right if the .iso came with a .dvd file. I am completely off on this? Is it better to check it personally with other software before relying on the .dvd that came with the .iso?

yes, I choose the .dvd file and allow imgburn to go ahead and do its thing. I have not tried to check anything other than with xdvdmulleter but all i get from that is what rehion and etc... it has not given me an error or anything while checking any of my .iso's. I guess since I am a noob I am lost in where my mistake may be at? But so far from what I have explained do you beleive I am doing the process correctly?

could it just be that my drive hates me and my DL dvd's? I have ran Xdvdmuletter and abgx360 everything says its fine so then I try and burn and I either get a burn that does not work or a burn that fails. So far I have only made one consistent burn that works well. The other burn works only when it feels like it. And the rest have all been coasters, total wasted about 18$ worth of discs right now. Any more suggestions on which media I should choose or is there a better way to make the iso's is it more reliable to buy a Kreon Drive and make the backups myself?

I'm in the same boat and still trying to get a successful burn, but I feel I am getting closer. What kind of dvd burner are you using to burn your backups? You'll find that the consensus seems to be in favor of pioneer dvd burners. I have yet to buy one but am thinking of getting the pioneer dvr-x122. Does anyone have experience with this drive? I need an external and hoping that it will solve my backup problems.
I've been using Verbatims made in Singapore but have yet to get a backup that doesn't give me the dirty disc error at some point in the game and I do have other backups that work just fine, but they were acquired elsewhere, so I am made to believe that the problem is most likely with with my hardware (burner).

Hey
I need help burning 360 games. I have the new filmware on my 360 and am using DL dvd;s and burners. I downloaded a copy of my game and it comes in a rar format. When i unrar it i mostly get a ISO file that is 7 gb and a DVD file that is really small. I burned the 7gb file using closeCD at a speed of 2.4. I read that maybe i should be burning the smaller DVD file instead of the 7gb ISO file, Is that right? It says "Unplayable disc" in my 360 and im not sure what im doing wrong, any help would be awesome.
Thanks

try running your iso through agbx and make sure it stealths all your files.
