Greetings to all for the new year,

I have some problems with my Xbox360 and hope to gather help from the experts here.

Drive is Samsung, flashed with iXtreme 1.4.
Tried a new Samsung 1.5 which still gives same problem.
Updated to the latest dashboard which still gives same problem.
Cleared Cache even though this set doesnt use a HDD, no use.


Problem: Xbox360 is fussy about which game it can play. Some games run perfectly fine like NBA Live 09, while Midnight Club - LA hangs on the first info screen.

Winning Eleven 2009 hangs on the load screen too.

This is not intermittent, it happens 100% of the time. I just cant get some games to load without hanging.



Also, sometimes I see the power LED flashing as if the drive is going to eject itself, but it doesnt. I can still eject and close the drive which omits the LED flash.

I am not new to modding, I have other xbox360s which can play the games perfectly well.

Please help me on this, thank you very much.

i'm guessing you're probably using bad media.

I would reburn. Or your laser might be going out on you.

I had a similar problem with a few games and i tried again and again to get it to work. The game i tried was Eternal sonata but that's irrelevant. Now the question is, are you connected to the net with no hard drive? If so this may be the problem.

I am connected to live and almost every game i put in requires an update to be downloaded most of the time i deny the update HOWEVER, a few games like Eternal Sonata would lock up after the loading screens without updating. So i decided to try a few things. I tried the game on another console not connected to the net and it worked fine (with no update) i then put it back in the net console and once again denied the update and it once again locked up. I then tried takeing the net cable out and it then obviously didnt give me the update anymore HOWEVER it still locked up at the white screen. I then decided to go ahead and accept the update and guess what. TADA game worked from then on.

In conclusion some games seem to trigger a no play if you deny the update. This is just a theory from my trial and error but i believe it to be true.

ya what brand media

Adjust the POT settings on your laser. Drop it down to 3.1-3.4 and you should be fine.

he said he is experienced, so i would assume he is smart enough to use the right media, sounds like the laser is going out or you could adjust pot

I swapped the drive with a brand new samsung drive MS28 iXtreme 1.5 and same problem occurs. Still have Lite-On but Im already guessing its not the problem.

Already updated to the latest NXE Dashboard.
Midnight Club LA has updated the set already, but hangs on the very first screen.

Using Verbatim DL burnt at 8x which plays perfectly fine on my 2 other 360s.

Some games work just fine, they are all Verbs and Mits 8x.

are your problems with backups only? or is it happening with originals to?

sadly i dont have that many originals to try with, but there's no problm with them with that limited selection.

midnight club is a bad game to use as a control it is very buggy.

Burn at 4x or 2.4x

8x will give problems sometimes
