    hi

    bit of a problem here

my freecom external hdd ceased to work so i decided to remove it from its casing and install as a slave on my computer.

did this in the end after a few problems. however, when i try to access it on my computer it says it needs formatting. the problem is that i have loads of data on the hd already from using it as an ex hd and dont want to fromat it and lose all this data. what can i do?

    thanks in advance

your hard drive maybe near its death and u may still have a chance to get things back before it dies completley. I suggest that u make it external again and connect it too another computer and see if it comes up if it does make sure u have the ability to back up the drive some how and then format the drive after.

    I hope that helps.
