Missing trophies after backup

I backed up all my saves and themes to an external hdd. I did it that way because the restore backup feature always failed for me. So that was the only option I had.
Regarding my trophies. I did a sync with the psn server so they can get saved. Now that my name hdd is installed all my saves and themes are there and even my psn downloads since I had to re do them. But my trophies are not. I went to the trophy icon and did a sync and my trophies are not in my ps3. I see a question mark for the trophy icon. Please what do I do to get them back.

same happened to me, although they came back after a day or so.
not sure if you need the game to be installed on the hard drive for the trophies to show up.

its been 5 days and still the trophy icon has a ? and there are no trophies. Also I played my fifa2009 and installed the game data and that did not help with the trophies coming back. My gamertag lists all my trophies so any idea how I can get them back?

This happened to me also. You need to play the games and win at least 1 trophy for each one. Then when you synch, everything updates to what you had previously. It worked for me. Hope it works out for you.

Sonys customer service is as bad as Microsoft. All they care about is your money. If it wasn't for the blu ray the ps3 would be owned by the 360. But thank you for the response I hope your method works because this stinks =(

i thought that all of your PS trophies are saved onto the flash memory and everything else is saved on the HDD so honestly i thought that the trophies would have just re-synced when you played the game but thats a little weird how that works it would really suck to play Burnout again!

ok I got one trophy yesterday playing bioshock and still none of the trophies for the other games appeared. All i see now under the trophy tab is a bioshock one. I synced with the server and nothing. I checked my gamer card and all my trophies are still there.
Im clueless now and this suck butt lol
