I used Flaskmpeg to create an AVI movie and have no problems playing it with WMP. How do I make this AVI file into a VCD (which has something like Cdi, karaoke, Segment, Vcd files in the disc) which can be played in DVD stand alone player? I was told that I have to use TMPGEnc to convert the AVI file into MPEG in order to make a VCD. If so, is it better just to encode the DVD file into mpeg file with Flaskmpeg from the beginning?
Yeah, definately re-encoding (you've once encoded the video into DivX already) is a _bad_ idea, because you lose quality. So I recommend that you rip your movies to VCD/MPEG-1 format directly from the DVD if possible.

Anyway, yes rip the video to MPEG-1 format directly with Flask. Then you need to have CD writer software that supports VCD.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">VideoCD format, like Ahead's Nero or Easy CD Creator Platinum:
...just use those tools (both are commercial) and select VCD.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">VideoCD as the disc format and drag&drop the MPEG-1 file to the layout and burn the CD. Software adds the directories, etc automatically -- YOU CAN'T DO THOSE BY YOURSELF, because even that you see the dirs, the physical structure of the CD is totally different than those of regular data CDs.
