Hi, firstly I'm not even sure if this is the correct forum...and please forgive my complete techno-phobe-type ignorance. I now have a shiny new iPod, and would like to copy some DVD's onto it, these are DVD's I have bought in shops, nothing copied. I have spent about 4 hours trying to figure out what to do, and so far have discovered that I could use some kind of DVD decrypter, move it onto my hard drive, and then transfer it over to my iPod using iTunes? Does this sound about right, and if so where can I get a DVD decrypter? The ones I've googled seem to be defunct and out of date. It sounds so simple but is driving me mad as I'm no further forward than I was this morning! I would really appreciate any help, thanks in advance, Liz

The big problem with a lot of these programs is the audio not syncing with the video.

Cucusoft is the only software i tried which does not have that issue. Every dvd to ipod copy is perfect with no sync problems and the picture quality is excellent.

I did have audio/video sync problems when i tried using dvdfab.

    Moved to iPod forum.

brandyliz - check the stickies there - there are several guides - some even with free ways of doing it. You can get decrypter here - link.

Too many steps. Why go through all those steps when cucusoft can do it in one easy step with perfect quality every time?

Thanks everyone for your replies! I'll try a couple of the methods you've suggested, although I think I'd prefer the free ones so will look into them first :) Cheers, L xx

My method is to have AnyDVD rip video to hard drive then I use a program called handbrake to create the desired mp4 file.
