I just got the panaasonic SC-PT 460

I hooked up all the speakers.. center.. right.. side.. left&right surround..

For some reason though, sound only comes through right and left speaker.. no center or surround sound

The unit comes with a dvd player and m playing a divx DISC and im still getting sound from only 2 speakers.. ive tried hitting the dolby button while playing the divx but nothing happens..

How can i get sound from all the speakers??

Hi,

Please check all the speaker connections on both the amplifier and on the speakers. It is usually the simple things that we miss :)

Hi,

sometimes things are not encoded in dolby 5.1
If you are certain of 5.1 sound (as in a AC-3 5.1 soundtrack in a dvd movie) then suspicion of a problem with the unit is warranted.

Not sure about this particular amp but I know for my Dennon unless you set the system up for multi-channel the other speakers will not play. So like for Cd I have to set it to 5 channel stereo, otherwise just the L&R play. I would suggest checking the manual to see if you need to set up the system in the menu to play 5.1.
