So, I thought I had successfully converted my .avi file to a dvd, and then burned it onto a DVD-R disc (using the guide that this site provided), only when I put the DVD in to watch it, it just stops 40 minutes before the end of the movie. The original file does have the whole thing.

Does anybody know where I went wrong? If so, was it during the converting process or the burning process?

    Which guide did you use.
Are you playing the DVD on the PC or a standalone DVD player.
Does it play ok on the PC.
If the AVI conversion was saved to a folder on the hard drive, verify that those files play in their entirety.

I used the guide that tells how to convert AVI to DVD using Avi2Dvd, then burning it with ImgBurn. I played on my Xbox 360, which I suppose is a standalone DVD player here, though the same problem occurred on the computer.

Did the program save the files to a folder - play those files with your media player.
    Is it complete?

No, it's not. Ends at the same spot.

When you open up the orginal folder, does it show the movie in 2 parts?
