There was a thread sometime back in regard to this problem. Unfortunately there was no solution provided in that thread, so i thought I will update the solution to this problem for other guys out there.

    The original question asked:
    "
Regardless whether I hard reset it by pressing the reset hole for 10 secs or follow the manual's 6 steps of hard reset.

the router simply refuses to reset to its factory default setting, kept on prompting for password. neither the old passwd nor the factory default passwd (admin: <blank>) work.

    what are my options?

10 seconds is not enough for the hard reset to work. It takes around 20 to 30 seconds to activate the hard reset to function properly.

    So the steps are:
    1) Keep the unit "ON" with all the cables still plugged-in.
    2) Take a hair-pin or use a pencil to press the "RESET" hole. Keep it pressed for around 20 to 30 seconds. (the que to remove the hair-pin is when all the LEDs start blinking.)
    3) Now once all the activities are over, power-off the router for around 1 minute.
    4) Switch the router power on. And wait for the LAN icon to get connected.
5)Then open a browser and type in the IP: 192.168.0.1

Now the user id and password should have reset to the default factory settings. i.e admin and <blank>

    Try this!
