So I had this Fx5700 Ultra since 2003 I think. So when taking it out from the case I broke off a 1R0 chip, card is dead now. Reason why I took out is because display would freeze some times. Found out that the onboard fan was dead. My brother bought a EVGA E-Geforce 6200 256MB ram DDR2. That we are using now. I was trying to get extra 4 pipeline from Rivatuner but card is 64-bit NV44A. Found a bios from mvktech (nv43 p277 sku1 VGA BIOS)(Version : 5.43.02.57.22) for EVGA 6200 256MB Rev 01 & a EVGA 6600 AGP 256MB Rev 01 bios. So should try the 6200 bios, 6600 bios or possible to fix old card?

Seriously, I doubt the 6600(GT) Bios would work. The reason why people were able to get the 4 extra pipeline by a flash was because nVidia was simply using the 6600GTs PCBs (or the whole video cards) sold as a 6600GT with a 6200 BIOS. I'm not sure how many batches there were, maybe only a few that were like that. They're probably no more, so I doubt the one your brother bought is actually a disguised 6600GT.

I'm not totally sure of all this; I didn't really grow up in the 6 series era; I did in the 7 series =DDDDDD.

Just use what you have, and overclock the shit out of it. Maximize performance from what you have. No need for a new fan, unless its free. The fan will probably cost more than a new and better card (AGP?). If its running cool, 50C after clocking, V mod, and keep on going =D

    Good luck!!

I found out that BFG has life time warranty so I got a RMA and just gonna overclock the old card.
