i just recently bought a HP Laptop (HP G60-125NR Notebook PC) and unfortunately, I didn't notice it didn't have a firewire port. Im trying to transfer footage off my new canon hv30 but i can only do via a firewire since its DV.

I was told I could add a Firewire Card but my laptop does not have a PCMCIA slot. The only other slot I see on it on it are USB, HDMI and a slot that says "SD MS/Pro MMC XD".

If anyone could help me out on how to be able to connect a firewire using a firewire card or some sort of docking station or anything, it would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Sorry, this is NOT the answer you want to hear.

You're stuck unless you can return the laptop. This laptop has NO expansion, zip, nada.

This was one of the knocks it received from C/net.

No expansion dock either. However, if enough users get pissed off, HP might make something down the line (I've seen it happen)

Changing you camera might be cheaper if you can't change your laptop.
