http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/741775 These are the rules (2002) http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2487 My post doesn't transgress the rules - it merely gets tripped by a command from on-high that popped up two years after the 'Rules' were published; "They" might try a consistent, as opposed to fragmented, publishing of the bottom line..this hodge-podge, Ad Hoc approach serves merely to embarrass me, inasmuch as I was offering an off kilter comment that was in contrast to the fawning adulation that the media should be reserving for the Second Coming.
You should have looked at the sticky just three posts above yours at the time... http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/379741 ...I don't make up the rules as we go along, but the history of political and religious discussion here is nasty and in no way did I try to belittle you for starting the thread. We try to be consistent by closing all threads started in this vein and nip the others in the bud before they have a chance to get ugly.
First off, I am not arguing with you Loco as I know that the rules are rules, but I really didn't feel that what attar or myself posted was really to far political, in so far as pushing our opinions out there to cause arguements, we never chose sides or said one was right or wrong. Attar wished luck and I stated that we should bear it (for the good of the country, as opposed to trying to resist and further escalating the problems already at hand.) That said, I understand your position and even that of the admin. when it comes to politics or relegion, as those can definitely get out of hand.
OK...I'll leave this one open with the link to the other thread and we'll see how long it takes before someone starts getting personal and offended.
To take a trip back to reality, the original quote was taken from the movie 'The Re-Deadening'. Lenford "Lenny" Leonard had a bit part in the movie, where he is murdered by 'Baby Button Eyes' - a deranged doll. As he is attacked he cries out 'the prophecy has been fulfilled'. His eyes are then replaced by sewn-in buttons - only, as Lenny explains, 'they weren't really sewn-in - they used hot wax'. Mr Leonard:
As is your spelling of 'spelt'; while correct in the context of flour or foodstuffs - it's incorrect in this case.
