Hi there, I have a red 4g 2nd generation ipod nano. Since getting it there has been problems with the sound on some songs. Apple already replaced it once when it was a few weeks old. Anyway, about 8 months later it started to happen again!! What happens is some songs sound distorted, like there is an interference. Some say a little like your listening to the song under water.... I have restored the ipod many times and it always seems to do the trick then a few weeks later it starts to happen again. Im not sure if it ever does get better with the restore or if it takes me a few weeks to come across a song that is distorted!! It is very annoying. Does anyone have the same problems? Can anyone help? Many thanks, Charlie.
there has been many complains about the new nano's having a audio issue, since you mention after restoring it, it will work fine for a few weeks, when you get to a song that sound distorted, make note of it, go try to listen to the same song on the computer to make sure is not a bad file, if there is no problem with the song on the computer, then restore the ipod, and try listen to the same song again and see if the problem persist, i had came across, last year i purchase an 80 gb classic, i notice one of the songs i was listening to will skip half way threw to the next song, it will play fine on the computer, i try restoring the ipod with no luck, the only way to fix it was deleting the song entirely from the itunes library and re-adding it,so keep that in mind also, Good luck.
Hi, Thanks for your input. You jogged my memory, as my ipod sometimes skips songs half way through too.. Once you deleted the song from itunes then reloaded it did that stop the problems happening full stop? Thanks again, Charlie.
After i deleted the song, from itunes entirely, sync the ipod so the song was off the ipod as well, then copy the song back into itunes and sync the ipod yet again, the problem was solved. this problem is been around for while since itunes 7, there was an issue songs ripped from cds using an earlier version of itunes pre 7 would skip and not play all the way threw, Apple solution Re rip your entire collection, so keep that in mind as well. Bellow is an apple post about the skipping problem. Apple Post
