Hi I have RIpped, DVD2ONE and then used Nero to burn a backup DVD, using a LG 4040B burner on Ritek G04 disks.

I played it on my PC ok, but on my Smasung SVDVD1E player it stutters later in the movie

why? and how can I fix it
    cheers

Try a slower burn speed. If you're burning at 8x, try 4x, 4x try 2.4x, etc.

DVD Players are very prone to Picking up Read/Write errors on DVD"s and the Faster you Burn the More Errors there will be on the DVD, So yes Burning on a Lower Speed can help with this Problem as I have experienced this Problem before...You can also see if there is a Firmware Update for your Burner which might have a fix for better burning at faster speeds...well good Luck

I have the latest firmware for my LG404B multi writer. The newest firmware is supposed to include better higher write speeds for the ritek G04, which I used.

I will try at the lowest speed possible, but am beginning to think it may be my burner, do you think this is the case? what else can I do? My set top players are a Samsung DVD SVDVD1E and a LG3520.

    cheers

Well If you can read the Disks on your PC then it is probably not your Burner...Maybe if burning at lower speeds doesn"t help then try useing DVD+R Disks...I have a Sony DRU-500A Burner and I haven"t yet had the burner fail to produce a bad Disk accept with a Batch of Bad DVD-R disks I had that even the Burner could not read after burning...well good Luck
