Each morning for the past few days, when I turn the computer on in the morning it puts up a fuss. I have to hit the power button several times before it will come on finally. However, if I turn it off at any time during the day, and power-up later, it fires-up fine, first time every time, no matter now long the period between turn-off and turn-on again. Can anyone tell me what might be occurring here?

    Thanks p.

Do you switch the PC off at the mains?
This is usually caused by a faulty power supply unit. You don't want a bad PSU hanging around, I'd replace it ASAP.

Thanks for power supply tip. I think I've herd that sometime before in the distant past.
No, computer is not particularly cold by U.S standards. I live on the Southern California coast.

yeah this can be either a psu problem or maybe a faulty switch problem try connecting the reset switch as the power switch and see if it that works
