Sagem D-Box - Instruction Manual or Help wanted pls!

Hi - my friend just got given a Sagem D-Box; they are trying to delete some channels which seems to work, but then when they go back into it - the channels are still there? Any clues please or does any kind person have access to an instruction manual that we could have?
