I have just had my Lenovo desktop reformatted. Although I've done it several times, I cannot remember how to make Windows open without having to enter my password. It is possible that I've done it successfully, but when I boot up I get a screen telling me that my password is incorrect. I then enter the password and Windows then opens.

In the process of trying to have Windows open without requesting a password I changed the password twice. Apparently Windows must be retaining an earlier password somewhere.

How can I have vista open without receiving a password request and how can I overcome the incorrect password problem?

I don't use Vista, but in XP it's

Start --> COntrol Panel --> User Accounts --> Change the Way that Users log on or off.

Thanks Dailun. I eventually solved the problem via Start > Search > control userpassword2 and unchecking the box.
