My computer is not starting up. I have a Asus P5P 800 motherboard and when I power up the only thing that turns on is a little green light on the mobo. I just replaced the power supply because I thought that was the problem, it's not. What can I do to find out for sure it's the mobo, without taking it somewhere that will charge $$$ just to look at it?
If you case has a power switch and a reset switch. Go to the front panel header on the motherboard and swap the power and reset switch connections. Press the reset switch and see if the computer starts. Alternately, but riskier, use a screwdriver to short the power switch pins on the header block.
disconnect all cables to drives. clear the cmos as have found that to work sometimes to kickstart a stubborn system. reseat all cards & ram.
I have tried everything above and still I just get that little green light, nothing else. I pulled all wires, jumpers, ram, and the little battery and reset it all, still nothing. Could it be I have another bad power supply?
