VHS to DVD

    I understand that DVD recorders have an embedded chip to detect copy protection when copying VHS to DVD. Is it possible to disable, bypass or remove this chip from the recorder.

    Not all commercial VHS tapes have Macrovision protection - however Disney likes it.
    The best way to remove it is to use one of the so called Video Stabilizers.
    I have a fifteen year old Optex model that works the same as the (old) version shown in the link - it's easier than firmware.
