I have just installed XP after getting a boot virus on my machine which was running on Vista basic, i have now installed all my software back onto my PC but have no sound on investigationit appears i have no sound card, how can this be when i haven't physically taken anything from my machine & how can i fix it ?
if reinstalling drivers doesnt do it,visit microsoft help and support.email them with your problem and they will usually reply in a couple of days.same thing happened to me and it worked.its free as well.
Thanx alot guys, its been a journey but i got there eventually, went to the manufacturers website "emachines" they didn't have the driver (Figures !!)but they did tell me to go to the realtek website who did so i downloaded the driver from there. Thanx for you help......Greentina.
