HP Laptop Turning Off

I've been having some problems with my HP laptop the last week or so. It turns on for about 5 minutes, then locks up for a minute before the screen shuts off. All the lights stay on, but just the screen shuts off. Then it sounds like it's trying to reboot but it makes a loud beeping sound for a second and stays idle. Its not a heat problem because it does this when it is completely cold, and I have a laptop cooler. Any suggestions to fix this will help. Thank you!

    1. How old is the laptop?
    2. Check the POWER OPTION in the CONTROL PANEL and make sure it's not in Hibernate mode after 5 minutes.
    3. Is the laptop charged?

To me it sounds like either the laptop is going into Hibernate Mode, the laptop has no power, or there is a hardware issue.
