    what a bad combination!!!

how on earth can we just all of a sudden grind to a halt purely because of a little snow?!!!!!

we need to find out how the Austrians/Swiss, etc... cope on a regular basis in much worse conditions.

any thoughts on what Mr 'I've screwed the country big time' Brown should do!

    post your suggestions below!

    rant over

I was laughing yesterday.. All the schools in my town were closed because of the - by then non-existent - snow.

I would dock all the teachers a days pay.. because it was a lovely dry sunny day with no lying snow at all... It had all melted overnight.

greetings from the sunny okanagan valley in b.c. canada.so far this winter we have had at least twice our annual snow fall which is around 150 cm. no school closures even with a 25-40 cm overnite fall. they dont close due to low temp.until around -40 or so.oh well, spring is just around the corner.another month or so.lol.cheers

Meh I got a few days off school for it. But it is still a load of crap. It all boils down to the teachers can't be arsed teaching and say that they can't drive to school because of the (non-existant) snow.

    @ aldan
I used to live there in Vernon, so I remember well the accumulation of snow.

Even here in Alberta we don't close the schools, well some communities do, but ours doesn't.

Would have to be pretty damn cold with lots of snow or blizzards.

The buses may not run when its -35 below, which is a good thing, buts its up too you if you attend school that day or not.

I will say the teachers here do earn their pay.
