i recently installed 2 120 mm fans one blowing air in (front) and one blowing air out (back).i swapped the old fans with with the new which run at 3000 rpm, 45.90dB,Airflow 133.60CFM. Now this extra cooling is accepted when need but i like computer quit during movie watching and web surfing.therefore i used speed fan to quiet them but i can not accept the fans going full blast during boot up.Since i don't live my machine run all day.So how would i quiet my fans during boot up so that they do not go full blast
Unless you have variable speed control on the power leads for the fans, the only thing i can think of would be a manual speed control for the fans. I am not aware of any motherboards that are sophisticated enough to do this. (That doesn't mean that there aren't) I work for a networking manufacturer and I know that the fan speed control for our equipment does what you appear to be looking to do but is pretty sophisticated and interfaces with the operating kernel as well as several temperature sensors.
i guess i need to keep my computer under sleep or hibernate so the loud fan speed time is reduced.Since i not willing to shell out for fan controller
