Erasing Hard Drive

    Hello everyone,

    I have an old Dell latitude laptop that I want to erase the hard drive O/S (Windows 95) and install a fresh O/S (Windows XP). The Window XP CD is a Full version O/S and not an upgrade version. I don’t have the Dell CD’s (recovery/ Windows 95) so I’m in a bind can anyone help me erase the hard drive?

    It runs 95?... don't waste your time.. no way will it run xp

    why wont i be able to just erase the HD and then install windows XP?

    crusher, see if the laptop will boot off the xp cd & if so then when loading xp, it will give you the option to delete the partition, make a new partition & format the drive(quick or standard format). what is the model# of the latitude laptop?

    After thinking this over i will just donate this laptop and buy a new one prices have come down.
