    There are a few options.

1.) Hardsub with MeGUI + Avisynth. Or, if your file is an .avi file, you can use VirtualDubMod.

2.) Mux the movie to a Blu-Ray folder with tsMuxer. As long as the subtitles are .srt or .sup, you'll be able to add switchable subtitles fairly easily.

What are the audio, video, and subtitle streams? (What filetype are they?"

1.) You don't have to burn it to a CD/DVD when you mux it to Blu-Ray.

2.) If you're having trouble with VDubMod, you can try using AutoGK. Here's a guide on that: http://forum.videohelp.com/topic316471.html

3.) What do you mean, it just says Subtitle file? How/where are you checking the stream information?

I'm guessing it's an .avi file, right? Maybe I shoulda asked that first - that determines everything we do.

I'm not sure if it's easier to use. I personally use MeGUI + Avisynth, and I have very little experience with VDubMod, and none at all with AutoGK. MeGUI is far more complicated, but it also allows for much more control.

But judging by the guide, AutoGK seems like it'd be a very easy program to use. Just follow the guide and see how it works out.
