#1 15 Feb 2009 @ 14:30
Hi, i was thinking of buying a Panasonic DMP-BD35EB blu-ray player as i've found the PS3 to be to noisey, does anyone know if i can use the SD card slot to play HD video files on the panasonic, these would be H264 video, DTS ana AC3 audio etc, converted with TsMuxer or similar, thanks.

The SD card slot on both the BD35 and BD55 can be used for HD video files. I use it mostly for AVCHD (1080i) video from my Canon HF10 high-def camcorder.

The card slot recognizes the inserted card quickly and shows Dolby Digital 5.1 on the receiver display when I play back files recorded with my Panasonic HD camcorder

Does the menu show you each mts file? I went to Best Buy with my SDHC card that I removed from my Canon H10, put it into the BD35, and it only showed me one file with one date on the menu. It should have shown numerous dates and files.

I would like to purchase the BD35 for vieweing content of my SD cards, but I want the menu to show me everything listed on the card..not one great big file.

Where would I find more detailed instructions of different uses of the SD Card in the Panasonic DMP-BD35?

The SD card slot only plays AVCHD and DivX videos and JPEG photos.

How could you rip a DVD to the SD card. Would it play on the BD-35 player. It might work.

I'm not sure if it will play vob files off the SD. I'll check it tonight. If not, then once you have the files ripped onto your PC by using a program such as DVD Shrink, then you need to convert them to either AVCHD or avi (divX), but I'm not sure what programs that are best for that.

Does anyone know if the Blockbuster movie downloads to SD cards will play on the BD35?

Unless they are in either AVCHD or DivX format, maybe not.
