i just bought a 100 spindle of verbatim 16x dvd+r. the problem is when i burn a dvd back up to them i cant get it to play in my philips dvd player, it keeps try to load disc and finally stops and says no disc. i burning using nero 7. i tried burning the same dvd on different media that i had lying around and that works. also my older burned verbatims still work in my player. also when i put the burnd disc in my computer, it cant read it. the weird part is that when i put them in my panasonice dvd player in the other room, it can read and play the dvds. i thought i narrowed down that it was bad media but then i dont know about how my panasonic dvd player can play them. any other troubleshooting i can do to narrow this problem down

ok i just tried burning thru imgburn and when it went to verify after the burn errors kept on popping up with each sector. i burned the same image on hp dvd+r and that works fine. im guessing this is a media issues. do i have 100 coasters on my hand?

    Hi,

it is reported that Verbatim (Made in India - MII) have had issues and are not of consistent quality. So avoiding them would be advised.

This just shows the importance of matching media to your burner. The HP disc will be from one of the so called 'inferior' makers yet it works. The only thing to suggest would be a firmware update, make sure you bitset the +Rs and maybe play around with slower burn speeds.
