Hey, i'm thinking about getting an iPod Touch soon, and i'm not sure which generation to go for, here's what i have so far: I can get the 1st gen for £50-£60 less than the 2nd, and the 1st already has an untethered jailbreak, even though dev-team'll probably solve that problem with the 2nd soon. I also feel the 1st gen looks slightly nicer than the 2nd, which is pretty much the opposite of most people. I like the idea of the 2nd gen's processor being 133MHz faster than the 1st's, since i'd be playing games on it quite a lot, and finally, the external speaker sounds quite useful, although i've heard it isn't amazing quality. So, anything else you think i should know? Do you think the 2nd gen is worth that extra £50 or not, and why?
The external speaker can be overlooked, I wouldn't even factor that into the decision. I've not compared 1st gen to 2nd gen and went with the 2nd, but money wasn't much of a factor.
