I work at Circuit City, and since we are going out of business, we are having pretty decent deals. I bought a Microsoft (my first failure) life chat zx-6000 for gaming. So I went home, plugged wireless receiver into the computer, and installed the drivers. But.....the funniest thing happened after the drivers were installed, my mouse ceased to work. I restarted the computer, but I was just greeted with my mouse not moving in the center of my screen. I restarted the computer again, but this time removing the wireless receiver from the usb. and what do you know? My mouse starts working again. The moment I plug it back into the computer my mouse stops working again. My mouse is a logitech g5. I went to mouse properties thinking that windows xp thought that the receiver was a mouse (did this annoying process with the keyboard). But the device selected was my logitech g5 and nothing else. please help
Please someone help. No one has a clue on how to fix this? This honestly has me stumped, and i dont feel like talking to someone in durka-durka-stan to help me out. =D
Hi, those in durka-durka-stan produce those product i imagine. i cant see a reason why they would conflict with each other....do you have any other computers to try it out of? plus try alternating the USB slots.... microsoft have never been great at hardware.. maybe they should stick to software..
Microsoft and Logitech devices will fight as they are designed to uninstall each other. You would be better off using the same brand for both (preferably Logitech instead of Microsoft)
No, I don't have another computer I can use. And what do you mean alternating usb slots? I can't think of a reason why it would disable it but according to sammorris, its the brands hating each other, which I can see, but this still sucks because i cant return the headset.
i think he means alternating usb slots as in, try the mouse and the wireless receive in different usb ports. plug the mouse in a different port, see if it works, then try plugging the wireless receiver in a different one. switch things around and see if you get a combination that works. its weird, but sometimes it works. one time my keyboard wouldnt work with some usb ports, but i kept trying different ports and i eventually found one that worked with it =P
Ok. So. I haven't been able to alternate usb's till now. And sadly it did not work. Any other suggestions?
Ok, so I finally got my mouse to work with it. But now my usb speakers make a crackly metallic noise instead of the sounds it should be playing. but again when i unplug the receiver and restart the computer it works fine. Apparently it is a common problem. But all my google searching got me was people saying they have the problem too. One fix i found was for windows vista only which pissed me off anymore. I use windows xp mce sp3. HELP!!! =P
