Hi, I have just moved my PC to a new case, this is the case I'm using: X-Clio Case at SCAN Computers All the case connecters, USB, Firewire, Power LED, IDE LED, Front panel fan, front panel temperature sensor, power and reset buttons are connected and work. There is no front panel audio. However I have one cable left with an odd 7 pin connector on it! Not sure where it should connect, here is a (very bad) picture if it helps: I think it would logically blue front panel LEDs which are only cosmetic but I'd really like to have working! Hopefully someone here has a solution! Thanks! Will
In fact after closer inspection all the wires are linked to LED bulbs! Just have no idea where to connect them!
it isn't USB. That would be a 10 pin connector. The first questions would be: 1. What LEDs are it connected to? 2. What did the case vendor say since not all cases have the same front panel connections It is very possible that you do not have connections for thise LEDs on your motherboard and the plug should be left disconnected.
It is connected to 3 LEDs on the front panel, they are purely cosmetic LEDs as far as I know as I have connected the IDE and power LEDs without an issue. The case came with no instructions and the manufacturers don't seem to want to get back to me on the issue! It is basically three pairs of wires going into the plastic connector block.
OK, they are probably power, standby, and the HDD activity light. If you have your motherboard manual you might be able to match them up to your motherboard or if you're really desperate to use it, take the sockets out of the block and put them on the appropriate motherboard header connections. I'f you're not sure of what you're doing, I'd suggest that you just leave it disconnected.

Thanks for the correction. I will leave my Post as a display of my inattentiveness. OK, as penance for my attention I did some research on this case. It is not sold in North America nor is there any information on this case at the Xclio website. Here is a slightly more descriptve adver: http://www.aone.co.uk/ProdInfo.ASP?ProductID=1387 For the life of me I can figure out what that connector could go to given the TC said that the connect to LEDs. In his original post, TC says that the only thing left would be the blue front panel leds. OK, if you feel like experimenting, this is what I would do: Run a pair of jumpers from the power LED + and - to some bare leads and start connecting up vertical and horizontal pairs of connectors on the seven pin connector and observe what happens. Alternately, you can take an old 5VDC adapter low amerage <300ma and srart plugging them into the connector. You want low amerage in case you get the leads backwards. Tat is why I would suggest extending the power LED from the mobo header. Anyway, that's what I would do.
They are the 'cosmetic LEDs' though there are no lights on the foot stands, I wouldn't want them anyway to be honest!
OK, gave it some thought while sleeping. Jugding from the fact that there are three LEDs and the position of the "key" on the connector, I would try 5V and ground across the two pin side of the connector> -->Ground O O O X <--Keyplug -->+5VDC O O O O or -->+5VDC O O O X <--Keyplug -->Ground O O O O
My guess is, it might be put there for the use of a higher end board. like a server board because I've seen web servers before and they have multiple lights on the front panel. I'm guessing for multiple hard drives.
Thanks for the help guys, the manufacturers X-Clio did get back to me on it after ages of waiting (2.5 months!) and it is for a higher end mobo.
