case and power supply ?

hi anyone got any recomendations for a cheap case with a psu that will power everything ? (mainly new graphics card recomended 400w HIS ATI Radeon HD 4670 IceQ 1024MB GDDR3)

here are my computer specs at the moment

make: compaq presario sr5079uk

CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6420 @ 2.13GHz

ati Radeon X1650 SE (512 MB)

power supply not sure on make but it is 300w

2gb (upgraded to 4 gb now)

motherboard P5LP-LE (Leonite)

Your local computer parts store will probably have a basic case and PSU (500watts) for around $40-50.

I recommend buying them separate.

 

Antec Earthwatts are found readily at PC shops for a good price. There are two makers of this PSU. Seasonic and Delta I believe. The Seasonic is probably more reliable. You can tell from the model numbers.

Seasonic is EA-xxx and Delta is EA-xxxD. So a 430watt would be EA-430 or EA-430D. In this case, the EA-430 will be the one to get.

Ugh, no to that on several counts.
You should always buy a case and PSU separately, the PSUs that come with cases are almost always bad.

Yeah, because the PSUs that come with cases are almost always cheap crap, prone to reliability issues and even fire.

The Corsair 400W is a very capable unit, it could power two of your current system, even with the HD4670 in it.

You would be wise to purchase an additional fan for better cooling, it's not mandatory, but highly recommended:

i now have the case and psu , and i noticed in my old case the motherboard is this way up (http://g.imageshack.us/img3/dscf1024.jpg) , to fit the new case it will have to be turned upside down , which means my current graphics card is also upside down . will this cause any problems with heat and can the bord actuly go upside down ?

You do not need to turn the motherboard upside down in 99% of cases.

As far as normal PCs go, as it happens that board is already upside down, with your new case you're putting it the 'right way up'. There is no harm in any PC component being upside down.

 

not even the graphics card fan pointion down when heat rises ?

 

The air will disperse horizontally, as long as it has somewhere to go it'll be fine.
