I have a backup copy of a DVD. It has all the menus and everything. It is just under 8 GB. I have tried burning it twice and it failed both times. The reason was because of a cyclic redundancy error. It failed both times on the same VOB file. Then when I started transfering the files to my external HDD it said it couldn't read from the source on the same VOB file. So is there a way to fix this or is the file trash? Is there a way I can make it an ISO so I can mount it with Alcohol 120%? Thanks
Since this is a backup copy, it will have no protection. Are you using DVD Decrypter to rip it to the hard drive? http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DVD_Decrypter
What brand name of media is that backup disc? What program burned it? Some programs had difficulty with the layer break. Re-ripping backups and getting crc errors: Try what attar posted,but change a couple things in the settings: Open up Dvd decrypter/Settings/locate the CSS tab and tick "Brute Force". Then locate the File I/O Tab and tick ignore all read errors. Then click ok. May take some time,but can possibly get through the crc error. After those 2 changes,then proceed to try to rip it. If no dice,try Imgburn. It's gotten through some bad crc errors when dvd decrypter failed.
