I have a Sony VAIO desktop, PCV-RS600 model. Currently I only have 512MB of RAM (don't laugh). I want to add more RAM to my PC - i ran a test and it said that I only have 2 spots that I can add RAM strips, I want to take out the one 512 and add 2MB of RAM (1MB in each slot). Will my computer be noticably faster with this change or do I also have to add anything else?
specs should match these.. just buy the same type and speed http://shop.crucial.com/1/4/83506-sony-vaio-pcv-rs600-series-desktop-pc-memory-module.html nothing wrong with 512.. I have built a full functioned OS which runs in 32 XD my quad 64bit unix video editing machine has a gig.. and I have never seen it use more than 400ish.. to get a speed upgrade change your operating system or buy a new setup from the ground up.
