Here are the following specification of my system: Motherboard: ASUS Rampage II Extreme RAM: 6 GB CPU: i7 920 3.2GHZ (Overclocked) Cooler: V1 AX HDD: 500GB PSU: 500 Watts Video Card: EAH4870X2 Sound Card: SupremeFX X-FI OS: Vista Home Premium 32-Bit Are there any parts I should upgrade for a better benchmarking score, more stability and a better gaming performance?
I went into the system settings and it says 6.00GB of RAM. Also, I currently have the i7 920 CPU, what are the correct and stable settings to overclock this cpu to 3.8 or maybe 4.0GHZ? I also have a V1 AX Thermaltake cooler installed. And I currently have the EAH4870X2. How far will this card overclock? What is the best tool to use to overclock this card? Lastly, should I update my bios? I realize that it has many updated features.
32bit windows can only read max 3.5gig of ram. if going to overclock a system then read the overclock thread above.
To be honest, as good as Earthwatts units are, that is pushing it. I would recommend at least a Corsair TX 650W for a 4870X2 and overclocking an i7. I got away with a 520W HX for a Q9550 and a 4870X2, but the Q9550 uses 40W less power than an i7 even at stock, let alone when overclocked, and the Corsair HX units are stronger than the Antec Earthwatts.
So the ability to overclock the i7 also depends on the PSU as well? Also, which power supply would you reccommend?
Well, yes, because if you overclock that CPU much beyond stock your PC will use so much power, your PSU will overload and shut down. I would say, the Corsair TX 650W, or the HX 620W if you want modular.

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3438607&Sku=C13-2502 Was it really so hard to find?
Not really, but why wouldent this one be better? http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4256918&CatId=106
because it's a crappy brand, and will actually be nowhere the 800W it says it is. Alright, not crappy, but a little suspect, and with PSUs you can't afford to take any chances.
Alright thanks for the suggestion. I think I will be getting it. However, do you know the correct settings to overclock my cpu to 3.8 or 4.0 GHZ? I have the V1 AX cooler. I have tried to overclock it b4 but i received a cpu overheat error the next time I restart my PC. I am planning to overclock it again once i get my new PSU.
You can follow Gigabyte's overclocking guide: http://images.tweaktown.com/imagebank/Core i7 920 oc 4G 2008.12.12_(ENG).pdf
