I'm having a problem with burning backup copies on my system that previously worked fine. The newer movies (recent releases) are whats giving me a problem. I'm using and have been using Roxio with the DVD43FREE decryption and haven't had a problem. I haven't changed any hardward or software but I seem to have a problem with the recent released movies. I've tried to burn three of the lastest Tyler Perry movies, and various other recent titles but when I put the movie in and start the process the system isn't able to get past the first portion of the disc where the previews of the soon to be released movies is. If I try older movies I don't have a problem, it's just with the newer movies. Are they using a new type of encryption or doing something new for recent releases now? Does anyone have any idea what the issue is or might be?
Hi, dvd43 is not one of the best decrypters out there (it has the reputation of interferring with other programs). Please decrypt with dvdfabHD instead. Jo
It only makes sense to backup most (not all) of today's recent movies to have the most recent software.
Okay, I downloaded the Fab HD Decrypter and I was able to rip the movie, however, I can't burn the movie to a disc, this software is not compressing the movie so I tells me that I don't have enough space on the disc. Unlike the other programs I've used (DVD43free) which compresses the data and allows for burning directly to the disc instead of ripping it to the hard drive first then burning it I'm have a hard time dealing with this issue. What to do?
Lol. DVD 43 is only worth urinating on for sport. If you truly want to avoid a multiple step process then DvdFab Platinum (pay version) is your one click answer. Most of us take the extra steps to preserve overall quality.
I don't mind taking the extra step, what I'm saying is I don't know how to get the movie from the hardrive onto the disc. I'm using Roxio and I can't seem to get the movie compressed and onto the blank DVD.
ImgBurn. If you need to compress ithe files first, use DVD Shrink. If you are serious about the quality, use DVD Rebuilder. Please take the time to read the great guides provided on this site.

I am currently using DVDFab and compress burn to DVD using Roxio Creator 8. Since I am using Vista Ultimate, I upgraded to Creator 2009. It had trouble compressing while burning. I will switch back to Creator 8, but heard that had some compatability issue with Vista. Does anyone know is there a program that will compress a 7 GB video file to fit a reg DVD that works with vista?. As I said Creator 8 worked perfectly with XP.

Okay, I've tried DVD Shrink and it worked, but it took 3 hours to compress the file. Is this the only way to compress files? It reads files in real time which basically plays the whole movie. Is there another software that compresses in at least half the time?
There are lot's of variables that can affect the transcoding time. Other programs running in the background, fragmented HDD, slow processor, AEC etc. etc. How about posting your system specs?
my friend's 2.4 Ghz intel core2duo uses dvd shrink with deep analysis and aec on , and does that in about 35 minutes (at about 85%)
Okay, last question. Is there any other DVD copy software out there that performs like DVDXCOPY does (a couple of clicks and the disc is being copied)because I'm not interested in separating the steps, I just want something that's simple and works! I tried DVDFab Platinum and it still separates the steps and I just want to simplify the process.
Don't understand what you mean by "dvdfab seperates the steps", as I use dvdfab, and it copies with 1 or 2 clicks.
The version I'm using rips the movie to my hard drive usually the size of 7 gb or so. Then I have to shrink it because there's no compression when it rips the movie. Then after I compress it I have to burn it to a disc. When I used DVD43 with Roxio all I did was put the source DVD in the drive then put a blank disc in the burner and click copy.
