windows xp running very slow

    Hi, can some one help me with windows xp,its running very slow,done a full scan found 10 Trojans in music i downloaded from lime wire mcafee quarantined them all,then done a system clean registry and so fort,but still the same,its do-in me head in all-together,can some one recomende what to do next.

    Personally I wouldn't trust macafee to solve all your antivirus/security issues. My advise would be to check what else may be lurking around inside your machine. Use the link below to download and run Hijackthis. This app creates a log that you can post in the antivirus forum and have it checked.

    Do not fix anything with this program..at all
    . Just use the log it generates.

    After that very important stage has been sorted, you could also click on start-> then Run and type in msconfig. Click on the startup tab and have a look at what is loaded at that time. Choose carefully when selecting a program(s) not to run at startup.

    macafee.. there is your problem.. it's a pile of cra.. that's why you have to pay for updates every year.
    #make your pc 100% better.. remove winlogon.exe from the startup list ;)

    soon somebody is going to be a full time linux user.. wondering how a crappy old 1gig pc with 350 or so ram seems so fast and stable... FOSS ftw XD
