I am using +R DVDs, and want to understand how to go about creating and naming chapters after recording live TV broadcasts (usually from our TiVo). The Panasonic documentation gives rote instructions, which seem to describe the procedure, but don't give any explanation or trouble-shooting in this regard. And, the rote instructions don't seem to work. When I follow the instructions to "View Chapter" I see the screen generate the Thumbnails for approximately 30 chapters. But that's as far as I get. I can't figure out how to save the Chapters, modify the start and stop points for a chapter, or name a chapter. Once I leave this screen, all of the Chapter information disappears, and I'm left with one long Chapter for the entire DVD. Any help or suggestions for supplemental reading?
My DVD recorder is different from yours. So read just as information. I can’t any editing except setting the title after recording on DVD-R. Though I can do some editing, which include setting a chapter mark, with only DVD-RW. In similar way, with your recorder, the chapter setting may be allowed only in a special mode and/or a media. (I’m sure that some functions are only for RW media.)
