    Greetings,
I want to network 3 - 4 computers to share internet connection and a printer. What's the best way to do it? Thanks.

Do you already have the printer?

What is your current method of internet access?

A simple network router will do.

Connect your incoming internet device (e.g. router), the printer (assuming it is networked) and the PCs into a Switch, such as the Netgear GS605.

I'm doing this for someone else and will have to check if the printer is networked. Thanks

It's fine if it isn't, the PC it's hooked up to will just have to be on when you want to send a print over the network.

That's what the problem is now. When the main computer is turned off then you cannot send any data the printer.

Well, there's no way of solving that unless the printer has a network port on it. If it does though, plug it into the switch and it's easy.
