Burns but won't read?

    When I burn a cd or a dvd I can use my external dvd player/burner Pioneer 113n but any cd or dvd I put into it the lights will flash and my indicator will light up for a sec, but then it shows no disc in the drive? any clues? I recently had to go into my services to start the light scribe on it if that means anything. thanks
